How I got into
Water Aerobics
|
To get a pool
|
Water Aerobics
was probably the next best choice after getting burned
out as a scuba diving instructor. End of 1993 I ordered
the hydro tone videotape, various books on benefits
of water aerobics, water exercises, safety aspects,
and equipment to get more info on the subject. The principle
is the same as I taught during my scuba diving classes
- only contrary. |
|
Then it was off to find a pool.
After several hotel tries and a year later I was offered
to teach outside of Pattaya at Phu
Luang. They designed a pool specially to conduct
exercising in and do gym-related workouts. No deeper
than 1.3m all participants can touch the bottom. A
reeling inside the pool along the edge provides perfect
body alignment support for the participants or, when
elastics are attached, turns the pool into a hydro
(water) gym.

Exercise - A way
of Life
|
It wasn't a big step from in-water aerobics to out-of-it.
After being trained by a Swedish aerobics instructor I tried
my luck at World Class. With the growth of Pattaya new and
more sophisticated health clubs opened up offering a variety
of exercise and sporting possibilities to compensate for
our indolent lifestyle. So it was the Dusit Sports Club
I went next and had some more tuition.. |

I strongly believe exercise in any
form has to be a part of our live style as eating is,
or going to sleep, or - as having fun. Our attitude
towards physical activity is the biggest factor, bigger
still than the time many claim they don't have. You
have time to eat, you can make time to exercise. |
